Anonymous Donor Gives $40 Million to Fund 50 Civil Rights Lawyers: The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund launched a $40 million scholarship program on to support a new generation of civil rights lawyers. This effort was made possible by a single donation from an anonymous donor.

Samsung Executive Gets 30 Months in Prison for Bribery: Lee Jae-yong, Samsung’s leader, has been sentenced for bribing government officials in a scandal known as “Choigate” which lead to then South Korean President Park Geun-hye’s removal from office. Lee was initially sentenced to five years, but his sentence has been reduced to 30 months.
