Himalayan Glacier Breaks, Causing Flooding: A portion of the Nanda Devi glacier broke off Sunday morning and a torrent of water flooded down the Himalayas. The floods washed away villages, destroyed a hydroelectric power plant. At least 18 people are dead, and more than one hundred are missing.

Republican Representative Ron Wright Dies After COVID-19 Diagnosis: U.S. Rep Ron Wright, a Republican from Texas, has died with COVID-19. Wright has previously survived cancer. Leadership from both parties have expressed condolences.

Congo Working to Stop Ebola Outbreak in East: An outbreak of Ebola has appeared in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. One woman has died, and the government is tracing everyone she has come in contact with to contain the spread of the disease.
